THE FRENCH CONNECTION | HEATHER + PHILLIP

This couple finds their origin in the vineyards of France where Phillip studied winemaking in the region of Bordeaux while Heather, completed her Master's degree from NC State University and studied abroad in Provence, France.

Extremely photogenic with a powerful chemistry, this talented, young couple really exuded love and adoration in every sense of the words.  We even asked if this was their first time doing a photoshoot together, and they said “yes”.  Astounded by their response, we asked a couple more times throughout the session just to confirm that it was indeed their first time collectively posing before the lens.  The hardest challenge for us was culling through the images to select the best.  Well, as you can see below, every captured moment was just ridiculously beautiful….

WALTER MAGAZINE | JUSTIN LEBLANC OF PROJECT RUNWAY

We all go to NC STATE!  Recently, we were selected to shoot Justin LeBlanc, native of Raleigh, fellow Wolfpacker, and contestant of the current season of Lifetime's Project Runway, for the 1st Anniversary issue of Walter Magazine.  LeBlanc is also an assistant professor at NC State in the College of Design where he graduated from in 2009.  From the beauty of transforming a malleable design from wool, to boiling pennies for 20 minutes to create a cutting-edge collar for the fashion piece, Justin is a design maven in the making.  We tip our hats to this fashion designer that contributes his inspiration to the likes of Alexander McQueen.

STYLED SHOOTS, OUR STYLE

When we photograph people, we usually create story and inspiration boards to help us determine the vision of the shoot.  We create the look from a variety of factors including the client's personality, their style, number of subjects in the shoot, weather, location, etc.  Of course, when we get on location, creativity tends to consume the moment and we may take a little detour from the original storyboard.

Traditionally on our styled shoots we are able to accomplish the stylistic tone, brand essence of the story, and have some time to capture a few extra photos in between.  As a husband and wife team, having two shooters allows for more freedom and flexibility during the shoot.  Here are a few of our favorite campaigns...

The following was actually our first photo shoot using a camera in the DSLR world!  We chose our beloved NC State University as the location and certainly learned alot from the experience.  It was tons of fun working together at the very place where we met over 17 years ago, became best friends, lovers and business partners!
