WALTER MAGAZINE | THE 13 TREES OF CHRISTMAS

You can say we've been on a little bit of a sabbatical from blogging and such and this time of year always proves to be even more chaotic. As photographers, parents and people that love life, we are still learning how to balance work and life, but we think that's a never ending challenge that most of us continue to navigate.  Nevertheless, we are so excited about Christmas especially now that Raegan is almost two and just adores decorations, trees, lights, ornaments and really all things Christmas.

Speaking of Christmas, we are elated about our feature story in the current issue of Walter Magazine.  We were both able to shoot the gorgeous residence and Christmas collection for one of Raleigh's most spirited holiday homes. You may remember that we scored the cover and feature story of Walter last December, which brings a huge smile to our faces all over again:)

Founder and President of the Preiss Company, Donna and Kirk were both very welcoming and engaging as they shared stories, moments and memories of their travels across the globe securing each and every Christmas ornament along the way.  Every delicate and unique ornament had a story, which made our photoshoot incredibly intriguing.  We love to capture stories of people, places and things, but these lovely thirteen trees and accompanying ornaments hands down speak for themselves.  Take a look for yourselves.  There were so many to choose from, but here's a snapshot of the collection.

Just all around lovely!

Why not have a couple of decorative trees outdoors on your porch!

This was by far the most amazing upside down tree we've ever seen!
The storage and filing system for each ornament could be another photoshoot itself..wow!

A WARM + INVITING WAKE FOREST RESIDENCE

Shooting interiors is quite different than capturing people, travel, food and events. With interiors, the challenge is to make the inantimate dance, the expressionless exude emotion, and the stillness tell its narrative.

Images of the home are open invitations to family dinner tables and living room relaxation retreats. In addition, the residence showcases individuality in style and character through the clothing of decor. Grabbing and sharing these attributes through a lens is exciting for us!

Our latest project found us at the home of an inviting Wake Forest residence. The spacious kitchen, open dining areas and lounging spaces, and the richly decorated bedrooms all sofly say "welcome". Take a look for yourselves and embrace the warm invitation extended to you...

STYLE AND CLASS CONQUER

Hi everyone, meet Susan!  Susan is classy, energetic and funny!  Susan is also fond of world travel, a great read, her dog Smokey Joe, and just adores her 10 month old granddaughter Margo, who lives in Brooklyn.  We were a little nervous when she asked us to capture some headshots for her because of her insistence on not liking her photographs.  So much for thinking you do not photograph well my dear because you brought it!! Thank you Susan for bringing great energy and amazing, timeless style to the shoot. Hopefully, your precious granddaughter will one day look back on these images and love them as well.
